Well, here's my first blog post - pure jabber. They'll likely be few and far between but I thought I'd launch the new site with a little explanation about why I do what I do, and where it came from... Here goes... MORE

I've had the good fortune to meet and work with Evan Wilcox. A master craftsman in the art of hand-formed metal, Evan painstakingly fused my vision with his experienced hands (and a few ideas of his own) to form a truly bespoke tanks and tail section for my '75 Kawasaki Z1b build. MORE

Shout-out to Kelly at Ketchy [Studios]
August 22, 2021
I've spend a fair time already talking about why I do what I do, but it's just as important that I expand on how I do it and WHO I do it with. I collaborate with a large number of people from artists to designers to technicians, fabricators, other builders and on and on. As more of a designer, it's how I like to work. I'll be doing an in depth blog, laying out the landscape of my community and their specialty crafts soon, but I wanted to give an immediate and heartfelt shout out to my designer Kelly Scheck proprietor of Ketchy Studio. Kelly has been the key figure in helping me to build the current identity and web presence of OXYD. Please check out her website at www.ketchystudio.com. They are truly "A design studio, with the goods". MORE

Back to basics

I find myself buried in the act of working on four bikes at once this weekend. I've torn the Harionago bike down to its bones to prep it for the upcoming OG Moto show in LA. I'm also finalizing the XC bike, even though it won't see the Handbuilt Show in Austin until next year. What's had me twisting a bit is a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan owned by a friend. It's been sitting for a few years and needed to be cleaned-up and started... or so I thought. I'm being reminded just how a quick tune can quickly turn into a weekend of swearing... still I'm having fun. MORE
